Our resort leads — here is why

Nobody should miss this: entry No. 1 is owned by the publisher. It leads because it's ours. There was no neutral contest that it happened to top.

Revenue model

A share of the outbound hotel links are tracked referral links. When a reader clicks one and goes on to reserve, the hotel or an intermediary network can send offrifyplu a fee. Your rate stays identical. The affiliate disclosure covers the rest.

How hotels get picked

Two filters come first: the property must offer guest rooms on its own grounds, and it must sit in a Great Lakes state. Positions two to ten are then sorted by:

• Setting — what you can walk or drive to quickly;
• Rooms — layouts, outlook and how recently they were refreshed;
• Downtime — spa, pool, places to eat;
• Access — airports, trunk roads, trains and buses.
